In my paintings I create areas of color and texture using the Illinois landscape as my model. I employ a painterly approach; brushing, splattering, and dripping paint to manipulate the surface. I believe the viewer, upon close scrutiny, can easily make out the landscape features; the ground, the sky, and woods.
